Lucy is Sick (2020 – 2023)
This book tackles cancer as a personal narrative under the guise of a coloring book. Most chapters appear as double spreads of text and image, a structure that compels the texts to remain short and condensed. This textual restriction is occasionally abandoned to discuss in more details issues such as the representation of pain, and the cinematic perception of cancer as painless.
The early publication of its first few chapters was commissioned for the quarantine edition of Steirischer-Herbst in 2020, and distributed in the Graz public hospital and through other venues.
